Fees/Costs

To participate in our volunteer projects you must be a member of IVP.

$350 full price, $300 concession
$250 early-bird application for Australian workcamps (at least 6 weeks prior to start of camp)
$200 for each additional workcamp application processed concurrently

This includes all food and basic accommodation for the workcamp duration - normally 2-4 weeks. It does not include transport (eg. flights) to and from the workcamp.

*In the event of genuine hardship, there is one scholarship available to subsidise an Australian workcamp application. Ask about it by emailing admin@ivp.org.au

*Office volunteers who have contributed at least 3 months or 40 hours are eligible for a special rate of $120 per workcamp

*Workcamp leaders on Australian workcamps who have completed a Leadership Training Course with IVP or SCI will be exempt from paying the Application Fee.

An EXTRA PARTICIPATION FEE applies to workcamps in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America. The exact amount will be clearly stated on the information about each individual project. Workcamps ask for these fees if they need additional funds to enable the project to take place at all. In essence, it's a solidarity payment in support of the project and the hosting organisation while you are there and may also cover costs such as internal travel and materials. The EXTRA PARTICIPATION FEE is payable in cash, usually US or Euro currency, when you arrive at the workcamp.

To avoid costly international money transactions, exchange agreements have been made with our partner organisations, so that workcamp application fees stay in the country in which they are paid. In Australia the workcamp application fees go towards IVP's administration costs, developing and running Australian workcamps, insurance for volunteers on all workcamps, Australian workcamp project evaluation and services provided to all SCI branches and groups through the SCI International Secretariat in Belgium.
