SCI’s October 2026 e-zine features IVP Australia

Service Civil International (SCI) sent out its e-zine for October 2026, and IVP Australia features in it twice: in a news item on our recent growth, and in a listing for the Goulburn Show 2027 workcamp.

Positive growth for IVP Australia

SCI’s e-zine reports that IVP Australia has a lively social media presence, a renewed website, new strength from additional volunteers, and that Rita Warleigh has been named Goulburn’s Citizen of the Year. It invites volunteers to join IVP Australia’s February workcamp and to visit our office in Goulburn.

The renewed website is now live: see our October news roundup for what’s new.

Goulburn Show 2027

The e-zine lists our workcamp at the Goulburn Show, 27 February to 11 March 2027. The show is one of the largest community events in the region, with agricultural produce, local creative talent and school artwork. Volunteers help put the show together, set up and pack away, and learn about Australian rural culture and agricultural heritage.

Other opportunities in the e-zine

  • Soshanguve, South Africa: a camp from 30 November to 14 December 2026 to celebrate International Volunteer Day, with community work in and around Pretoria and volunteer services to the Soshanguve community.

Details and applications are on SCI’s volunteer website.

Voices of volunteers

Two volunteer stories close the e-zine. Kateryna writes about nine days at a volunteer camp in Switzerland, run through SCI Switzerland’s Create a Common Understanding programme: meaningful work, landscapes, cultural exchange and new friendships. Franceska reflects on her first Exchange Platform Meeting in Prague, from her nerves about the network’s procedures to meeting colleagues from branches around the world.
