Fees and Costs for Short-term volunteer projects
Workcamp Application Fee
The Workcamp application fee is $350 per workcamp and $300 for concession applications (students and concession holders). In case you are concurrently applying for more than one workcamp you should contact us at placements@ivp.org.au to enquire if any discounts are available.
Please note that certain workcamps also require the payment of an additional participation fee. This fee is payable to the host organisation on arrival at the workcamp. Generally, this fee is payable in Euros or $US currency. This information would be clearly specified in the workcamp details provided. Many of our workcamps do not have any additional participation fee.
Included: Unless otherwise stated all food and basic accommodation costs for the duration of the workcamp are covered by the project application fee and the exchange agreements established between IVP and our partner organisations in SCI.
Not Included: Transport to and from the workcamp, including travel (e.g flights) to or from the country where the workcamp is located, costs relating to visas that you may require to enter and stay in the country and travel insurances. You can read more about the costs of food and accommodation, travel, visas and insurance, as well as how IVP uses the project application fee in the FAQs section of this website.
Please note: IVP is a membership-based organisation. To be accepted on one of our projects you must firstly become a member.
In Australia the workcamp application fees are used not only to help run workcamp projects but also to develop new projects, pay insurance for volunteers on all workcamps, help towards IVP’s administration costs, undertake evaluation of Australian projects, and pay membership fees due to SCI annually. All are staff members are volunteers.
We do our best to make your payment go a long way!
